Annual Camp 2002 - Larch Hill (Dublin) & Silver Cross (Swansea)

This year we've decided to have 2 locations for our annual camp.  Primarily, it will be held in Larch Hill Campsite, which is a new venue for us.  During the second week, we'll be going back to visit Andy Shurey & all our old friends in Silver Cross Scout Campsite, near Swansea.

We're going from Saturday 6th July to Saturday 20th July - and after 2 weeks of rain in Paris last year, we reckon that we deserve some sunshine!

For the benefit of the parents and friends who may be visiting us - the following are directions to Larch Hill.  Like a lot of directions, they'll make more sense when you're actually following them than when you're reading them in advance!

  • On the M50 motorway, head South (in the direction of Tallaght).

  • Continue to the end of the M50.  At the end, you'll come to 2 roundabouts.  Take the Rathfarnham exit from these.

  • Go straight through the first set of traffic lights.

  • After the next set of traffic lights, take a left onto Grange Road (signposted for Leopardstown).

  • From this junction, travel 0.4 of a mile to a crossroads & turn right.

  • After 0.8 mile, you'll come to a T junction.  Turn left, under the motorway and then an immediate right at the roundabout

  • After 0.9 mile, turn left onto Mutton Lane

  • Continue straight all the way up the hill in front of you.  (Yes there is a Cul de Sac sign - no you're not lost!)  You'll come to the gates of Larch Hill.  If the gates are closed, open them, but close them again after you drive in!  Follow the road until you come to the buildings of Larch Hill.  Park in the car park on your right after the wardens office & ask where we are!
