6th Cork Scouts

2003/2004

Our Scout section is lead by Enda Downey, Shane Dignam & Simon Dignam.  The meetings are held for two hours on Wednesday night (7:30 to 9:30) and numbers are increasing all the time.

The Court of Honour, made up of the senior Scouts,  is the main driving force in this section, and without them the Scouts would not be where they are in Douglas.  They meet at least once a month and plan the programme and future direction of the section.  Scouting in Douglas is largely 'out of doors', and planned activities include camping, orienteering, hill walking and overnight hikes on mountains!

Already this year the 6th Scouts have been camping in Kilcully.  They also won 5 awards in the County Sports day.

After last years hugely successful summer camp to Gilwell (London), the Scouts are currently debating about where we go on camp in 2004..
